A different kind of Belize stay
The Tropical Acre isn’t a resort hidden miles from anywhere. It’s a family-run garden sanctuary on the edge of San Ignacio—private enough to exhale, connected enough to explore without fuss.

In our guests’ words
“The property is full of tropical plants, birds and lizards and truly was a little gem just off the hustle of the town.”

Watch the full Cat Kingdom tourA stay with purpose
Founded by our daughter Kayleigh in 2019, Crazy Tails gives rescued, abandoned and injured cats the care, safety and second chances they deserve.
What began as fostering grew into a remarkable home for cats and a community mission. Alongside rescue, rehabilitation and adoption work, Crazy Tails runs affordable spay-and-neuter clinics that have already helped more than 2,100 cats across Belize.
For our guests: The Kingdom is elsewhere on the property and completely separate from the accommodation areas. Animal lovers can ask us about arranging a visit; guests with allergies can enjoy their stay without entering the Kingdom.
Good to know
We’re on the edge of town: walk in when you feel like it, or take a quick US$5 taxi. Cahal Pech Maya site is also nearby.
Yes. We can arrange airport or water-taxi transfers and help book trusted cave, Maya, river and jungle tours—without adding a booking fee.
Expect birdsong, iguanas, squirrels, tropical insects and natural evening sounds. It’s an immersive garden stay, not a sealed resort environment.
Absolutely. Each accommodation is completely private and self-contained. Our family lives on the secure compound, available only when you need us.
